Track & Trace Field Visibility
For each client, ReelExchange adapts custom inventory tracking technology that conforms to a manufacturer's ERP and invoicing process. After the logistics group of a client provides ReelExchange with sample data, the client's assets can be tracked in the field, and visualized for inventory planning.

Lease Generic Reel
New working capital efficiencies are available to the cable manufacturing and distribution industry by renting steel reels for delivery to customer rather than buying new and maintaining old reels. ReelExchange leverages the data generated around field performance to select the ideal segment of steel reels to offer manufacturers for lease.

Accelerated Return Service
Returnable assets are not returned as quickly as they could be because consignees tend not to staff or incent people to return what are known as their suppliers non-core assets, even when deposits are in place. When Reel customers are followed up with consistently, and courteously, with increasing attention paid toward the end of a deposit window, assets can be returned more quickly.
Client-Side Return Pickup Request via Custom Mobile App
Reel users such as utilities and installers can struggle to book returns in a timely fashion when a reel is in the field. Further, the reel owner (usually the cable manufacturer) doesn't typically have enough data on field return activity to incorporate reel sizes, maintenance status, or locations into a forecast or upcoming build. ReelExchange offers clients a mobile and web-based field tool to snap a photo of a reel, scan barcodes or type in multiple serial numbers. The request connects to ReelExchange's database and can optimize the return based on other similarly sized reels in the region or forecasted need.
TL/LTL Booking
For loads or individual reels that are not returned via round trip from manufacturer (e.g. following delivery of new cable on reels), ReelExchange is able to book a user's pickup request under the best possible rate using our partner LTL rate engines or the client's TL rates.
Return Optimization (E.g. Milk Runs, Consolidation, Pooling)
For clients that have significant LTL return volume, or are able to mix return pickup and destination locations, ReelExchange provides North American freight optimization services. ReelExchange's has access to dynamic route and pickup planning software that can speed return of LTL quantity reel batches back into a client's depot or other site. Pooling points for multiple clients or user destinations are able a capability using our distribution partners' facilities.
Multi-Client Maintenance
ReelExchange research and data suggest that much of the cable manufacturing industry is highly immature in its approach to reel maintenance, refurbishment and scrap. With the proper data, and some collaboration, there exists a large opportunity to consolidate return depots, reduce return mileage with more depots available per manufacturer, and consolidate maintenance providers.
